Texas Travel Frenzy And NEW Solar Eclipse Footage!

Midland to Leander, TX

Welcome to this week’s episode of Traveling with Terriers! This week, we traveled from Midland to Leander (just outside of Austin), Texas. Along the way, we finally started to see GREEN! Nothing against the desert, it has its beauty, too, but I love seeing green plants and most importantly WILDFLOWERS! One of the reasons I was so excited about going to Texas is because of the famous bluebells that bloom every spring. We hit the state at just the right time to see them in all their glory along with numerous other varieties of flowers as well. It was a beautiful drive into Austin. I was even more excited to find a field full of blooming wildflowers right behind our site when we arrived at the Leander KOA!

A Friendly Texas Reunion

One of the reasons we traveled to Austin in particular was to see our friends Bhanu and Sri and their family. It was so fun to get to see them again! When they moved from Cheyenne, their daughter was just a year old, and Danny and I had just gotten married. They now have an almost teenage daughter and a son! We really enjoyed seeing them and their family and spending time getting to know each other again. We definitely agreed that we will be back (Hmmmm, maybe next spring?).

A Dog’s Eye View of the 2024 Solar Eclipse

If there is one thing that Winston, Tommy and I can agree upon, its that we still haven’t quite figured out what the big deal is about the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse. Was it really cool? Yes! Was it something that if we lived in Michigan and had to travel 1000’s of miles we would do? Probably not. Many of you saw the video that we made of the eclipse the day it happened. This week, we wanted to show you a bit more of the eclipse from Tommy and Winston’s viewpoint, thus a dogs-eye view of the eclipse!

Texas Sized Bloopers!

We couldn’t resist adding a blooper reel at the end of this week’s video. It was so funny watching (and re-watching) Danny try to get the boys to wear eclipse glasses that we had to let you all in on a bit of the fun!
