Strange Aliens, Ice Cream, Unbelievably Awesome Views in Idaho TWT, May 7, 2024March 5, 2025 On this weeks episode of Traveling with Terriers, we start to head back to Wyoming, but make a few more stops in Idaho along the way. We also encounter some aliens, eat square ice cream, and take in some more awesome views as we travel to and stop for the night at Lava Hot Springs. Check out what happens when Winston gets abducted by aliens on this week’s episode! Then, check out our other videos!First, the aliens. Then the ice cream and awesome views. So, something you may not know about Winston is that he is all about the aliens. I know, you are thinking “There’s no such thing as aliens.” Well, Winston would beg to differ. He sees them in every flying object in the sky, in every terrifying object he comes across, and even in his dreams. No one had better tell him otherwise. In fact, Winston is so in tune with the aliens that they wake him up out of a sound sleep at 3 am, and he turns into a barking shaking mess who won’t let us out of his sight until all the lights have been turned on and every corner inspected to make sure they have gone away.Well, this time, the aliens caught Winston, abducted him, and took him into their little flying spacecraft. Don’t believe me? You should probably watch the video then, because we have proof. Oh, you could probably ask Tommy, too, since he caught a ride on some balloons and “tooted” his way up to rescue his little brother… Tommy would probably tell almost the whole truth, too…Winston watching the “Aliens” fly above him.In reality, Winston’s alien is just Danny’s drone, which he is getting better at flying. We haven’t lost this one in any rivers, ponds, trees, or farm fields… yet. In addition, he got some great footage of the awesome views in the area. Now that the aliens are out of the way, let’s talk awesome views! We’ll save the ICE CREAM for last!On this week’s episode we begin the drive back to Wyoming. Heading out of the Boise area, we make a stop in Twin Falls for lunch and eat some delicious Hawaiian style food and take in the awesome views at the Twin Falls Visitors Center. Little did we know that this was only the first of many such views along our route home. We were especially impressed by the bridge and beautiful scenery surrounding the Snake River. The bridge itself was beautiful, and the gorge on either side of the river made for some great landscape pictures! The bridge that spans the Snake River in Twin Falls, ID.Amazing views of the Snake River and the surrounding gorge from the Visitors Center in Twin Falls, ID.Continuing on in our journey, we ran into several beautiful spots, especially as we got closer to Lava Hot Springs. One view even had a rainbow over the mountains. That view lasted for a long time, and we counted ourselves lucky to see it. Maybe it was the aliens or the ice cream that created such amazing views! One of the awesome views along the road headed to Lava Hot Springs, ID.We were excited to follow this perfect rainbow all the way into our campsite at Lava Hot Springs. What a great way to end a long drive! What about the ICE CREAM?After setting up camp outside of Lava Hot Springs, rescuing Winston from the aliens, and enjoying the awesome views for a while, Danny and I ventured into the town of Lava Hot Springs. After exploring the town for a while, we found out that the hot springs are fenced off and visitors have to pay a fee to see them. Since neither one of us are really into that type of thing, we took a walk along the river instead and then explored the rest of the town. We found both dinner and the ice cream at Sweet Stuff, a small shop on the main street. The sandwiches we got for dinner were huge, and very good. We had enough left for lunch the next day. The ice cream was scooped using square ice cream scoops. It was also very good, nice and smooth and creamy and square! An added bonus on the drive back to camp was watching the sunset. Since our campsite was just west of town, we drove into the sunset and got to have a great view of the day ending. One last awesome view in our last night in Idaho.Awesome view of the sunset on our drive back to camp from Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. For more of adventures with Traveling with Terriers, please check out our other Travel-A-Long Adventures, Behind-the-Scenes Blogs, relaxing Drive-A-Longs, and our Top 5 Tips and Tricks.
